Heras, J.M., M.L. Marina, and M.C. Garcia, Development of a Perfusion Ion-Exchange Chromatography Method for the Separation of Soybean Proteins and Its Application to Cultivar Identification, J. Chromatogr. A 1153:97–103, 2007. Fractionation of soybean proteins has been obtained using a developed method of perfusion ion-exchange chromatography. The method comprises a two-step gradient optimized for buffer concentration, buffer pH, and salt and for temperature. Aqueous solutions of samples were examined. Resolution of proteins in soybean isolates into 11 components could be achieved within 9 min. The protein pattern was observed in all isolates studied, but the quantity of each component (measured from peak area) allowed differentiation between soybeans. Multivariate methods were used for pattern recognition and the classification of samples.

Study of the Diversity in Different Cultivars of Pistacia vera L. Resistant to Drought and Salinity: Comparing Protein Patterns Using SDS-PAGE Method

Pistachio is one of the most important agricultural products that have always been associated with Iran, and its production has a long historical background in our country. In this research, protein patterns of 10 cultivars of Pistacia vera L. were compared in which cultivars grown in normal conditions where compared with cultivars grown in salinity and water shortage to determine diversity. Fo...

Upstream Regulatory Elements, Potential Targets and Expression Patterns of Three Drought Responsive miRNAs in Two Grapevine Cultivars

MicroRNAs (miRNAs), as a group of non-coding small RNAs, play key roles in regulating the growth, development and response of plants to various stresses. In this study, the expression patterns of three drought responsive miRNAs (miR159c, miR160a,b and miR169v) were compared in both drought tolerant (Yaghuti) and drought sensitive (Bidanesefid) grapevine cultivars using qRT-PCR under drought str...

Identification of apple cultivars on the basis of simple sequence repeat markers.

DNA markers are useful tools that play an important role in plant cultivar identification. They are usually based on polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and include simple sequence repeats (SSRs), inter-simple sequence repeats, and random amplified polymorphic DNA. However, DNA markers were not used effectively in the complete identification of plant cultivars because of the lack of known DNA finge...

Efficient identification of ornamental peach cultivars using RAPD markers with a manual cultivar identification diagram strategy.

One of the most important uses of DNA markers is cultivar identification. However, no DNA fingerprint analysis strategy is available for making DNA markers helpful in practical plant cultivar identification, especially for the identification of a large number of cultivars. We developed a manual cultivar identification diagram strategy for efficient identification of plant cultivars, from which ...

Development of intron polymorphism markers in major latex-like protein gene for locality-level and cultivar identification of Salvia miltiorrhiza

BACKGROUND Salvia miltiorrhiza (Danshen) is one of the most widely used medicinal herbs in traditional Chinese medicine. Locality-level and cultivar identification is of great importance not only for protecting highest therapeutic effectiveness of Daodi Danshen, but also for the genetic conservation and utilization of existing S. miltiorrhiza populations. RESULTS Intron polymorphisms includin...
